Wikipedia cracks down on the use of AI in article writing

**Wikipedia** has banned the use of **AI-generated text** for article writing, updating its previous policy that only prohibited creating new articles from scratch with LLMs. The new policy, which passed by a **40-2 vote** among editors, states that "the use of LLMs to generate or rewrite article content is prohibited." However, editors can still use AI for **basic copyediting suggestions** on their own writing, provided they conduct human review and ensure the AI doesn't introduce new content or change meaning unsupported by sources.
